I appreciate how consistent the na'vi are when it comes to fighting. They're not used to actual battles, but they're very used to hunting so their battle tactics are to pounce on the enemy and deliver a massive blow.
But then if that doesn't work they will scatter and retreat even if they're at an advantage.

They consistently do this throughout all three movies. Relatively few na'vi actually get killed, but they retreat when the "prey" doesn't fall fast enough.
