I typically prefer T2 because my childhood memory and youthful mind can't not favor having 2 terminators over 1 especially when 1 is T1000. However on recent viewing the way T1 is shot with the stop motion looking action scenes and the utter horror on Sarah Connors face in that first bar assault scene makes me think that was the series at its peak even if overall I lean into 2. Standing up against a terminator as a human will always be the most heroic the series ever felt. Crazy we never got a proper future terminator with John Connor being a guerilla warfare military tactician genius. Salvation wasn't even close

It's trying to be true to the first two films it just has a lot of limitations (namely the writer's strike fucking the script), and that de-saturated, muddy brown aesthetic that was big in the late 00s.I put Genisys in B because it's not a good movie, at least for the second half, but it at least doesn't make the sin of trying to undo or actively shitting on the original two films like T3 or Dark Fate does.
