10 seasons over the course of 12 years. Director and producer pay at the end. Plus nearly 200k an ep back when shows ran 20+ eps VS modern streaming 8-10. I think he just burned out. Took his millions and went homeSame as the guy from Hawaii Five-0 remake. Alex O'Loughlin hasn't done anything since. Only a few actors go from a huge long running show and then just land another. Like how David Boreanaz goes, Buffy, Angel, Bones and then Seal Team with pretty much no gap. Just 25+ years of acting

No doubt a Smallville/Superman movie would’ve done better than Returns. He’d made more money and not done 22 episode grind
