The film your fellow passenger in the row in front and across the aisle from you picked is often 300% more interesting than whatever /tv/ slop you picked on your 14 hour flight to Thailand. I don't make the rules but why is that?

What are also some other unusual places you've started watching a new movie or show? Events where you start standing in front of of the screen for an hour straight just because you were oddly hooked?

I was 9 or 10 on my first flight and the guy across the aisle was watching some medieval war film on a laptop and it blew my mind because id never seen full movies played on anything other than a tv or in a theater and i'd never seen a DVD before. also the movie looked fun.

I was surprised to see 'Modern Family' on Emirates. Also didn't need to see Don Cheadle's bare ass on Delta.

Somewhat related, I tried to browse 4chan on one of these bad boys and the site was basically unusable. Imagine that!
