Rewatching it now for the first time. The production value is amazing, as is the acting. It's a crime how they ruined this series with modern slop writing.

If you win your audience in the end you've got a hit and at worst they would consider it a great series with some weaker seasons. They blew that with an offensively bad last season.

The last season especially, people were just watching out of habit and to find out "whut happins" to their favorite characters/storylines or maybe just to see "dragons/zombies/tits" again. So many people blamed it on the showrunners running out of source material, but what is GRRM's excuse, because the books are the same way. Strong out of the gate and fades in the stretch.
