Took my time but I finally saw this and I don't get why critics savaged it so much. It's not bad at all. It's also nothing special but it was an entertaining enough thriller on a subject that deserves more attention.Why the hate?

The main actor promoted the film with QAnon stuff that is completely absent from the film, honestly if this shit had QAnon stuff in it then the film would amount to at least something more concrete, but it's completely shallow and again - boring as fuck - as it is.

My criticism would be that the set up of the sting isn't done all that interestingly and just sort of happens with very little planning and a single meeting but I suspect the real operation probably was as simple as offering some third world criminals a few hundred thousand dollars, the co-ordinates for a private island and then arrest them when they show up with dozens of stolen kids. Perhaps they could've embellished a little there.
