"They don't make 'em like they used to" movies
>>
This should be talked about more. Kino from start to finish.
>>

crasy ass movie

paranoia become reality

kino af
>>
>>
>>216979329
That film is the epitome of "ok".
The ending was unrealistic as fuck, but I don't care., it was still good. You can watch it every now and again, but nothing very interesting happens, but the performances are good.

Wild movie. The 90’s were peak “let’s make whatever we want with big stars and see if it works out” mentality. I miss those times, bros…

t. Saw Independence Day in theaters for frame of reference

Yeah, I know, dunston checks in, a classic /tv/ meme, but it's true, a movie like this would never be made today, we lost that technology
>>
>>216979559
Been meaning to watch this, is it kino?
>>
>>216979329
>"They don't make 'em like they used to" movies
So, basically any movie made before 2000
>>
Modern movies in general just feel "fake" and hollow in a way that older movies don't.

Maybe it's the overreliance on CGI. Maybe it's the fact that the industry is in decline and won't take chances on anything but predictable actors and established franchises.

Even the critically-acclaimed stuff of today lacks the soul and fun of the hits of yesteryear
>>
I fucking hate this reality. My life sucks and they don't make good movies anymore and nobody wants to be friends with me. ARGJGHJGHGHG WHYYYYY.
>>
>>216979620
Well said. You are 100% correct. Films back then had some type of “weighted depth and soul” to them that is completely and utterly void of today’s putrid landscape.
>>
>>216979329
I prefer Nick Mullen telling me about this movie
>>
>>216979580
Very. One of the last great Pacino performances as well, Crowe's great too.
>>
>>
How's Red Rock West? I hear it's pretty similar.

disgusting
>>
>>216979329
It's even just a road movie take on noir. Dino dr lorentis was what /tv/ thinks Harvey is
>>
>>216983171
Jt Walsh is kino

There is just something about 90s thrillers that made them so much better than every other decade.

Sadly, they do in fact not make movies like this anymore

Check something like Norris Code of Silence and be surprised how great looking it is

It's fucking SIZZLING. Had Michael Mann bowed out after this, his name would have been whispered in reverence, for EVER.
>>
>>216983423
I think I started watching this once but it was so bad I bailed out. I rarely bail on movies.

MEET ME HALFWAY
ACROSS THE SKY
>>
they don't make most movies like they used to. I can pick any movie really
>>
>>216983581
shits funny seagal gets chucked out of the plane at the beginning and has like 2 minutes of screentime.
>>
>>216979546
that movie was peak US superpower vibe. literally the only enemy they could make to beat the US was aliens. if you watch it now it's anachronistic. there's like a whole minute where all the commanders in the world are going WHAT ARE LE AMERICANS GOING TO DO?

they could never make that shit now. why couldn't US dominate for more then a decade, so useless. rome lasted for fucking 200 hundred years these niggers can't last 20.
>>
>>216979578
Shitty movies are made all the time
>>
>>216979329
Conan The Barbarian , 1982. Not the remake those to me were unwatchable.
>>
>>216979620
Even the camerawork is poor now.
>>
>>216983907
I remember Roger Ebert bitching about that in his review
Our computer had some sort of movie encyclopedia on cd-rom which I spent a lot of time reading before we had internet. Only went up to about 1995 I think
>>
>>216984291
Maybe that was the old encarta stuff from microsoft?
>>
>>216983969
Please understand, we let Jews run the show and also have to deal with niggers in the background of all that. It's not an ideal situation but we are trying our best :)

I looked it up, it was Cinemania.
It was neat, it reviews, technical details, even had little video clips of some movies. It listed availability too, on vhs or laserdisc
Encarta was great too.
>>
>>216984341
Not sure about Cinemania but friends had Cinemax and such on cable tv and satellite. There's not like smoking a joint after some skiing and chilling out with some hot girlis.
>>
>>216979329
Point break
>>
>>216979620
Godzilla Minus One was good, but it was also made outside of Hollywood so I suppose it falls outside the scope of the thread on a very technical level
>>
Enter The Dragon
I'm pretty sure this could not be made again these days.

There will never be another movie like this ever again.
>>

I love that poster. 80s as fuck.
>>
>>216979353
It’s boomer fantasy/wish fulfillment. The average modern man pushed into embracing his savage side and getting righteous vengeance.

>>216986216
Love this movie but never saw the poster, Emilio looks like Jonah Hill kek. The remake is it's own thing, some good ideas but not enough bite.
>>
I wouldn't be surprised if pic related had been review bombed by modern audiences for that one scene. daddy's home
>>
>>216986389
Pretty much. This is part of why so many Boomers that are nearing 60 challenge those are who decades younger into fights over nothing. Then they pull a gun and execute the younger one. Happens all the time.
>>
>>216979329
The name's Redbar. All my permits are current.
>>
>>216983317
agreed. great film
>>
>>216986216
Watched this movie while on endone and it was a pleasant experience.
>>
>>216979353
the scene with the cop where kurt suddenly realizes that the guy is lying and the tension of having his wife's kidnapper right in front of him is very well done/novel. could probably just watch that and skip the rest.
