Honestly I think this movie nails the wish fulfillment aspect of Spider-Man better than the other movies. Peter is at his most nerdy and pathetic at the start of this one, and then he turns into a shredded superhero who makes out with the girl of his dreams upside-down.
Raimi got it.

That is the problem with Tugboat. He never changes as a character. He’s nerdy and pathetic for the entire trilogy. Not hating, I love these movies. Just have some criticisms.

It's a reasonable criticism but I think they leaned into Spider-Man being his chad alter ego and wanted to keep that contrast going. Whereas I couldn't really tell you what the difference between Tom Holland's Peter Parker and Spider-Man are.

I don’t like Tom’s movies at all but in all fairness to him, he’s got some of that energy as well sometimes, like the bank robbery in Homecoming or when he’s shittalking the other heroes in Civil War. My problem with him isn’t his personality but more of him being a total dumbfuck and having no idea how to be Spider-Man without relying on Iron Man or Strange or alternate variants of himself.
