It's order of release until you hit AvP:R. You could argue that Prometheus, Covenant, and even Romulus are better.

Aliens is a sequel that did not understand what made the first one great. The singular threat is now substitute for men in rubber costumes dying by bullets with ease. The unease mystique of the tension is now choked into an action paced thrill ride. And the somber of the silent scenes are replaced with MCU tier jokes and quips. I'd rank it below 3, prometheus and covenant
