Most films suck at tasteful adaptation, the old X-men suits were way too edgy 00's while the new ones are way too obsessed with "muh comic accuracy". Few movies like the Spider-Man Raimi films get it right. The general design stays the same, but small tweaks are made to make it work better in live action. Even subtle changes to color, materials and texture matter a lot
