Every non-white character had a role specifically because the story needed that character. they weren't just shoehorned in. Plus, the show didn't try to gaslight you with some 'nigger good, white man bad' messaging. LOST was an experiment in how to string an audience along with absolutely nothing of substance except reveals. While the show itself sucked it did spawn the current generation of broad-appeal soap opera garbage so I suppose it should be recognized for that.
