I just wish the writing wasn't absolute dogshit.

It's inconstant.
For example, in episode 2, Maximus fights the Ghoul in the armor. Maximus isn't still experienced in handling the armor, thus resulting very long fight sequence, where the Ghoul gets away.
Okay, that makes sense.
However, in the final episode, the Ghoul comes across a dozen of Maximus' comrades in power armor. These guys are actually experienced and attack the Ghoul.
So, the Ghoul should be fucked, except the Ghoul reveals he always knew the weak spot of the power armor, and easily takes out the Brotherhood off-screen.
This really fucking in retrospect, because if the Ghoul knew the armor's weakness the entire time, he had no reason to kill Maximus earlier.

That's just one example of dogshit writing, but it's full of that kinda shit.
