Cyclops was basically the MC of X-Men until the Bryan Singer movies including the early-00s, including in the 90s cartoon from which ‘97 is based. He’s the one who got to bang all the hot chicks (just in the period that I had read, he had juggled Jean, Madelyne, Jean again, Betsy, and then spent a decade fucking Emma), he was the Optimus Prime/Leonardo paragon of leadership of the X-Men, was show to be able to take on the entire team by himself, he was Xavier’s prized student, he was Mr Sinister’s pet project, and Cable is his son.

That zesty negroid doesn’t get to claim credit for that.
