when you realize he transferred to this school for literally no reason other to enroll in Hill's class and call him a fucking hack to his face. I respect that level of hate and pettiness so much
>>
I think I like From Beyond a little more
>>
it was good until it got stupid in the third act which is like 90% of competent horror films.
>>
>>216987910
the opening scene is stupid what are you talking about
>>
>>216987713
Classic, prefer him to bruce Campbell
>>
>>216987943
it works to establish a premise. but they push it too far with the talking head that can telepathically control bodies.
>>
>>216987713
I prefer the second one and its kitchen sink approach. No Barbara Crampton though unfortunately.
>>
>>216987713
One of the greatest horror films ever created. Would have been a modern vincent price if he kept up that level of work

If you didn't understand what kind of movie you were watching after the Rufus scene, the morgue scene, and the part where he kills Hill I dunno what to tell you

Re-Animator gets its well deserved flowers but the one I feel like people underappreciate is Castle Freak
>>
>>216987713
It's good. So is From Beyond. Only good HP Lovecraft movies I am aware of.
>>
>>216988248
>fore legs
kek I haven't read this one in awhile.
>>
>>216987892
I don't think I've ever watched one without also watching the other. They just naturally belong together.

Thanks anon I haven't seen that one yet and I think I will watch it this week.
>>
Hardly a hidden gem. But I love it ever since I downloaded a shitty rip from DC++ decades ago.

Only wish they included more of Lovecrafts more 'problematic' (according to the left) views of you catch my drift. Though the story that re animator borrow from are pretty tame, except the negro part
>>
>>216988248
I mean in the story West and narrator spend at least several years if not a decade doing their experiments. Hell they even go to the European theater in WWI as it provides a lot of fresh corpses for their work.
>>
>>216988437
It's not fun like Reanimator is. Reanimator is gross and fun. Castle Freak is gross and depressing.
>>
>>216988780
you're not wrong but I can't let go of the feeling that it was trying to say something what with all the parallels between Giorgio and his mother and John and his family and their blood relationship and stuff but in the end it doesn't really make a point but it just fascinates me. the guy who wrote it also wrote the script for "The Evil Clergyman" which is also apparently just a mashup of 2 different Lovecraft stories and in the end makes no sense so I dunno
