Recently, I started to enjoy closing my gestalts across media. So I did marathon a handful of blockbuster series that I started as a kid but dropped while growing up. At one point, I decided to go back to MCU. And help me, God...I already watched most of the films across decades, but some slipped into the cracks, and I didn't even notice. Didn't know there were THREE Ant-Man movies; only watched the first one back in the day and Quantumania a couple of years ago. I had no idea there was another one in the middle, and it had no impact on how I perceived Endgame or the third Ant-Man movie. I also didn't watch much of the shows, only Moon Knight and the first season of Loki. And it also didn't matter!Yet the most bizarre part of all that—I can't remember much of the stuff I already watched! I'm still not sure if I watched Thor 2; I have only a passing notion of it. Hell, even the more recent stuff like Captain Marvel had no impression on me. I know for sure that I watched it, but I can't recall much of it, only the combat pilot angle and lesbo stuff. Shang-Chi? The one with the gargoyle from Doom 3? Nah, doesn't ring much either. What I'm trying to say is that this crap is literal slop. Not in some pretentious manner; I'm not trying to be contrarian here. It's slop in a more visceral, concrete sense—an eclectic mess without anything solid to latch onto. Just a filler.I don't have many flicks left from this franchise, but it still feels like I'm about to push some chores. And I loved the first Iron Man so much as a kid. Just mournful.
