I really don't think there's coming back from downplaying what was supposed to be the apex of interfamilial cruelty in this story the way they did. It's fucked up all subsequent emotional beats, and they're definitely gonna try and present Jace dying in battle fair and square as a bigger deal than a toddler being killed in his bed but it won't work.
