Die Hard started off with the gimmick of being set to the background of the Christmas holiday season, but after 2 movies they dropped it and branched out more. How come more movies don't do the reverse, though? Having a Christmas movie in the middle or end of the series? The only ones I can think of are Ernest Saves Christmas, Batman Returns, National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, and A Muppet Christmas Carol. I'm not counting all of the crappy Dreamworks TV Christmas specials.
