yesh the tame ass pg version is better lmao no

>*farts in your mouth and squirts a little shit in there too*

Why? Why would you do such a thing? Yes I laughed but thats beside the point.
>>
They talked to Clive Barker during pre-production, but Event Horizon isn't really related to Hellraiser. It's a horror themed (and only watchable) version of Solaris.
>>
>>216998399
Clive Barker's preferred life style?
>>
>>216998507
It's a warhammer movie without the warhammer. There's literally 8 point chaos undivided stars when they go through the warp and seared into weirs flesh later.
>>
event horizon is one of those films that siskel and ebert perfectly fucking trashed

>E: it’s an Americanized Solaris. they took out everything that made it special.
>S: every character has a personal panic attack so at a certain point you can play process of elimination.

Hellraiser is a perfect comparison. Retard dialogue, retard characters, no logic… beautiful horror costumes/effects.

Hell no.
Event Horizon is the most overrated movie to exist, its b-shlock direct to video sci-fi horror with nothing original going on for it; but for some reason people treat it like something more.

The screenwriter liked Warhammer, but the film overall is HEAVILY Solaris inspired. Paul W.S. Anderson loves Andrei Tarkovsky.

Basically The Thing, but in space.

>it’s an Americanized Solaris
this is a perfect example of a critic saying something that sounds superficially clever but is actually not applicable in the slightest. Ebert really earned his position as chief shill.

The are no good Hellraiser films and Event Horizon is not one either.

I bet he likes Bergman too but the fact his he didn't write the script and made no attempt to actually copy any of Solaris' filmmaking features at all.

it's like listening to him if he said Resident Evil was inspired by Murnau's Nosferatu.

Event Horizon is surprisingly decent when you consider who made it but it's no Hellraiser, come on.

Actually he leans way more towards Godard than Bergman. Something to remember is that even when Paul doesn't write his films they magically end up about his cucking fetish. It's uncanny. Officially he didn't write Soldier, either, but it has this huge cuck fantasy in the middle where the giga-jacked Todd haplessly steals Sean Pertwee's wife from him. Event Horizon is framed as a horror film about a guy whose wife kills herself because she was cucked by a space-ship.

Event Horizon reflects many of Paul W.S. Anderson's sensibilities as a director in the same way that Mortal Kombat does despite him joining Mortal Kombat after initial production had already started. Anderson leaves a very strong imprint on all his films.

it looks too good to be warhammer
