I want to get to the bottom of something: why was Batman and Robin so reviled on release, but Batman Forever was a success? Despite having all the same problems B&R had, audiences liked it and it’s not considered to be as bad. Why not? What changed in 2 years for everyone to loathe B&R so much?

They're the opposite extremes of Snyder's movies. But instead of trying really hard to convince everyone how so totally not gay they are (yeah sure thing buddy), they're doing the opposite. Zack Snyder is a fag in the closet. Joel Schumacher is that fag at a gay pride parade with a pink feather headdress and a black strap-on.
