>It's fucking KVNO Might be one of the best in the 2020's but it filtered fucking BILLIONS
>>217001228It's fascinatingly bad, but not kino in a conventional sense. I do wish I could buy the blu-ray.Also Coppola makes good wine.
I DIDNT ASKED FOR THIS
It's like metropolis, it's not even that unique of a movie
I still haven't watched it yet but I've hyped it up in my mind so much that I don't think the movie can meet my expectations.
>>217001228I very rarely turn off movies and not finish them, this was probably the 4th movie I've done that to.Unwatchable.Lebouf was acting like a retard
>>217001385I watched it in theaters and a good 1/3rd of the theater walked out.
>>217001365Wait did you actually fall for the memes on here or you being ironic
It's best seen in theaters with as little knowledge of it as possibleEasily one of the best theater experiences I've ever had
>>217001385Sounds like you got filtered hard. Go back to watching adults running around in Halloween costumes and shooting computer graphics at each other.
yeah, only movie I've enjoyed in like the last two years
>>217001228I watched it twice. Didn't like it much the first time, the second time I thought I might get something out of it I missed the first time but nope. I have no interest in watching it a third time. I just don't really get the appeal.
>>217001228Like an onion, it has many layers
It's a fucking trip. Seriously it makes sense that he designed this movie to be for people to watch while not sober. You CANNOT watch this movie sober. It's like watching a fucking Kubrick movie sober, it's boring as fuck and not worth the time if you do.
Make home alone 3
>>217001549It already came out almost 30 years ago and was a box office success.
>>217001429kek
>>217001365Now is (You)r chance!
>>217001408Only one other person was in the theater for my viewing. He walked out when Driver started the shaking scene, LOL. >>217001425Same here, especially when the wagie had to read out his lines for me alone.
>>217001228It wasn't supposed to be a documentary.
>>217001385>Pedantic pseud cope, STOP
>>217001422
>>217001301IMO the wine was slighly overpriced but still good shit. He doesn't own the vineyards any more though, he sold them to finance the movie
>>217001434
>>217001515
>>217001335>>217001472>>217002167All true.
>>217001429>Go back to watching adults running around in Halloween costumes and shooting computer graphics at each other. Are you talking about capeshit or Megalopolis?
>>217001425Yeah I put in the effort to actually find a theatre showing it when it first released and it was fucking worth it. It made me remember how watching a movie in the cinema can actually be enjoyable.
what the fuck is a "kvno"?
>>217002308One of my favorite scenes of the entire film. Really confirmed it as an old man's trip. Francis did well actually, I love it.
>>217002308its wonderful that a person got to make a huge film with total creative control. it was awesome to see something so unique.
>>217001228kuno? what the fuck, you faggots are more retarded every week
>>217002930>uniqueExactly what the soulless miss. Glad you enjoyed it too.
>>217001301>It's fascinatingly badYou got 100% filtered.
>>217001301didnt he sell his winery to pay for this shitty movie?
>>217001228People have used various films as an example of a pleb filter but Megalopolis is LITERALLY a pleb filter. It's the most pure form of kino and plebs cannot handle pure kino.
>>217001228This is the YIIK of movies in the sense that if I were a film professor I'd have an entire unit deidcated to analyzing this film given I think understanding it is the skeleton key to understanding everything you're supposed to do and not do regarding filmmaking in a single film.
>>217002470The great thing about a movie like Megalopolis is that by pre-emptively scaring off all normie faggots it pretty much assures you of either a room full of fellow kinoisseurs or zt the very least a chill experience with only a few diehards in attendance.Buf of course, that's the whole reason so few films like this are made. Limited sppeal is nice for weeding out filthy casuals but bad for profitability
>>217001385you must sit through a lot of really boring movies and enjoy them then
>>217003129Yes but i don't it's as tragic as it seems. He's an old guy and i think he figured giving up material posessions for one last moment of creative expression was worth it since you can't take it with you anyway.Or he really thought he had a blockbuster on his hands and would make the money back, in which case big oof
>>217003084TWAAAAAAAAANG
>whaddya think of this BONER
>>217003197
>>217003646Anyone got that webm of LeBouf eating Aubrey Plaza's ass out?
>>217004550mommy wow
>>217004627>mommy wowDid not watch the movie award>>217004550No but that undeniably takes the cake (heh) for the most awkward I've ever felt in a movie theater
>>217001429Please keep shilling this movie. The more gullible, contrarian retards who get tricked into wasting hours of their lives, the better.
Pick up my hat!
pick up his hat
Pick up his hat
>>217005049>>217005108>>217005141>>217005822Come in with the milk
>>217002308Looks like Roger Corman influence
>>217006825>Roger CormanIt's actually a reference to Tetsuo: The Iron Man.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnusIRbVmp4Coppola is quite famously a huge weeb, anyone who's seen Dracula knows this.
>>217001301Agreed. It's one of those movies that';s an interesting disaster to watch, both on screen and off. Has the unintended effect of making accidental soul.
It's a movie that seems like the equivalent of teenage poetry. Awkward and cringeworthy and earnest, but gives others (budding poets/filmmakers) permission to try and fail themselves.
>>217003129He sold his own organs and then burned the money in a microwave.
TIME STOP
>>217003129yeah but whatever company owns it now seems like they're doing an ok job (for now)
tfw no kuno gf
>>217001228The theater actually refused my money, it was so bad. Legitimately, they wouldn't take it.
Is it kino? This is the first time I'm seeing this movie and know nothing about it. What am I in for?Bump
>>217001228can i get a qrdwhy does he have the pickaxe?
>>217001228With that disgusting cast, it wasn't even the best movie of the month it released. Let it go.
>>217001301>Also Coppola makes good wine.He bought a vineyard, slapped his name on the bottle and sold it when the money ran dry. I'd be surprised if he knows what fruit grows in a vineyard.
>>217001228>Still no US Blu RayCome on Coppola.>>217001425Nothing could've prepared me for the bow and arrow scene. Probably the first time in ages I busted out laughing in a theater.
>>217001228its literally unwatchable
>>217001228I watched this on a 12h flight to south africa, i had no fucking idea what was going on(why demolish buildings?), who the characters were(i had no idea shia lebouf was there half the time cause he had a lot of costumes to wear), what their plans were(create megalopolis okay, but like, i still have no idea what that means), in what world it was playing and its rules(was it the normal modern world but caesar can stop time? But then why the fuck does it have this roman empire aesthetic? For very obvious subtext or something?) and what the acting meant. Like, in some cases, it felt like the movie was produced with a happy meal budget(wtf was that arrow shooting scene?), some plotpoints were there and suddenly never adressed again(wtf was up with the meteor/satellite/whatever the fuck it was again), and i have still no idea what the ending meant(the child is forever locked in frozen time???).It is the only thing i have ever seen where i am truly too confused on if its good, bad, mediocre, or anything really. If i would have to give it a rating, itd be "im so fucking confused/10". Your guess at whatever that means is as good as mine.
Hardly anyone on this board goes to the theatre so of course this film flew straight over their heads
