I think overall my main issue with BBT is that it's... bland overall. It was one of the bigger sitcoms in recent years, but it doesn't really have any really memorable lines or jokes. Compare with other big name comedies from the same era. You have stuff like Always Sunny, Community, Arrested Development etc where people can easily quote or cite lines/scenes that stood out after so many years. Meanwhile, BBT just have LOL BAZINGA which was a deliberately made catchphrase rather than a 'natural' line that caught on with fans because it stuck in people's mind. BBT isn't bad, but it also isn't notable despite how big it was when it was airing. The cast is another issue, the actors are adequate for their roles, but don't really stand out. Always Sunny has Danny Devito being able to make some otherwise normal lines or scenes really stand out, Arrested Dev has Jessica Walter and so on. All those other big name comedies have good lines being elevated by phenomenal actors. BBT doesn't really have that. So while you might laugh at some jokes while watching, but none of them really stays with you, years down the line you won't really remember any jokes or think back on them.
