tl;dr george was clear he wanted three to be the last star wars film ever. no more numbers. however you can still do stories and character pieces in the universe. the problem was george was so disheartened by the prequel backlash he sold it to Disney and rest is history

>>217004870I've just been reminded of SuperShadow, whose Sequel trilogy was better than Disney's.
>>217005644>I've just been reminded of SuperShadow, whose Sequel trilogy was better than Disney's.qrd?
>>217005167>>217005245he actually sold SW to Disney than less than it was worth just because he thought Disney was the best place for it kek
>>217006023It's very obvious that Lucas gave away his company out of spite. He had nothing positive to say about Disney or what they did with the franchise. He was upset at the negative reception of the sequels and basically told the world "Oh yeah? Let's see how you like it when I'm not in charge then." And he was right. Star Wars is no longer the unstoppable cultural behemoth it used to be, it isn't even capable of releasing successful theatrical films anymore.
>>217006023>he actually sold SW to Disney than less than it was worth just because he thought Disney was the best place for it keka couple billion dollars is enough to put Lucas's great great grand kids though college.

>>217006007SuperShadow had a website where he claimed to be George Lucas' best friend and would post "leaks" for the prequels and then sequels. For some reason people believed him, and he's kind of infamous for it.You can still find his site through the wayback machine (supershadow.com)
>>217005644Fuck me, that feels like more than a lifetime ago.
>>217006584I don't like them either.
>>217006023From what I read, they initially offered ony 3.5 bil until he talked them up to 4 bil.>>217006053Initially he did want to he involved, and was probably convinced by Iger it would be best for the company. But he didn't really trust him, which is why he put Kennedy in charge, in the hopes he'd be able to retain some influence through her (whoops). But you can see in the signing photo, he had reservations until the end. At one point he said everything in him was saying not to do it. >"You have to say, 'I have to move on,' and everything in your body says, 'Don't. You can't.' These are my kids. All those Star Wars films. I love them, I created them, I'm very intimately involved with them.He should've listened.
>>217004870He should have made the sequels and not the prequels.
>>217005276We stay on your minds 24/7.
>>217005644>>217006732Ah, that brings me back. I remember being like 9 and being too naive to realize he was just blowing smoke for quite a while
>>217007390While I love the prequels in hindsight the sequels were a lot more time sensitive.
Watch the Plinkett reviews
>>217005178>tl;dr george was clear he wanted three to be the last star wars film everHe had done extensive development for a 7th film when he sold the franchise to Disney. I assume he thought they were going to use his story as the basis for the continuation but in the end they discarded it and only used a handful of ideas from it.
>>217005226I hate that Jewish trivium, so much, man...>The movies are about [typically weak archetype; subverted by this character, who is an exception] — I mean, who else is going to be the leader? The implication that the exception is the rule...followed by the instant & desperate, interrogative, guilt-embuing reinforcement of said subversion... It really does take someone with Soviet Union levels of propaganist mental conditioning to accept this obvious fallacy, if one dost not be a child.
