FIRE FIRE DEATH DEATH
I'm back from the movie and I'm here to talk about it.The thing I will probably remember the longest about Avatar Fire and Ash is the 2 and a half minute long piss I took afterward. I didn't want to get up and go to the bathroom during the film because I didn't want to miss anything, and as a result I was in great discomfort for the last 45 minutes of the film. It is a credit to the sheer spectacle that Cameron can create that I was still very invested into what was happening on screen despite feeling like my bladder was going to explode. I am definitely getting older, there was a time when I could sit through a 3+ hour long movie without feeling like I was going to die from having to piss. I probably should have managed my fluids better, drank less, but I don't go to movies in the theater that often anymore, so it's a skill I haven't had time to practice. The movie was okay, basically rehashed a lot of stuff from the second film, even the climactic battle to save the whales. Maybe Cameron didn't feel like he did it right the first time and wanted another go at it. The big battles were pretty cool though. I also really liked Loak's journey through the stormy sea, cresting those massive waves. That was a good sequence. I think his journey out to Payakun's clan might've been when I could have gone to the bathroom, since not a lot came of that and the reveal later when they were trying to get the whales to fight was basically a repeat of it. So my advice to anybody unsure of their urinary fortitude, after the cool stormy journey part, head for the toilets. You have a few minutes where it's just Loak and his friends talking to drain your bladder. Also, I was kinda surprised Jake was going to kill Spider. Not that I believed for a minute he'd actually do it, but contriving things for him to sink that low, that was unexpected.
>>217007103>everything exploding and going to shit around her>she's just vibing out
>>217007290>Also, I was kinda surprised Jake was going to kill Spider. Not that I believed for a minute he'd actually do it, but contriving things for him to sink that low, that was unexpected.

3 would've made a better part 2 than 2
>>2170075023 only worked because of all the set up in 2
>>216996365Most unrealistic thing about this movie is Spider not having a massive visible boner under that loincloth
haven't watched 1 since release, skipped 2 and just watched 3. I should re-watch the first then watch 2, also bought the 'new' game, ubishit performance and gameplay but its a pretty game at least. i don't understand how this franchise is so fucking popular but it's not the worst thing i've consoomed.
>>217007290I have a theory that the movie is intentionally telling you to go to the bathroom during that scene where it cuts to a flowing river and Spider goes on and on about pissing. This happens right before the long and visually basic sequence of Spider not getting killed which is ultimately pretty skippable and after that is the big ending sequence
>>217007626You skipped the wrong movie. 1 is about is mid as movies get, 2 was a surprising jump in quality, and 3 is also good but feels like a rehash of 2.
>>217007640maybe? i'll watch 1 again and then 2 in the next couple days. i skipped over 2 'cause covid days. 3 wasn't great to me (maybe it gets better after watching 2...) but it was a pretty movie, felt very 'turn your brain off, watch pretty blue faggots and presentation'
>no talk or intro for the fire navi>just have them attack randomlybravo jim and let's not forget:DO IT AGAINwater pll then fire, whuts next jim, air ayys??
>>217007745What did you want? An "as you know" conversation?>As you know, the mangkwan are fire-worshipping raiders whose clan is lead by their tsahik, Varang>Yes, we all know that, thank you for reminding us

>>217007765same thing with Varangall i got was she is a le bad Navieven a speech with her saying why she rejects EyWa (had to get that from Google) not much rounding out her characteri like Quaritch as a rep for humans, ruthless but can be a hero when need be
Neytiri.
>>217008038>even a speech with her saying why she rejects EyWa (had to get that from Google)What? Nigga she tells her backstory to Quaritch when he's tripping out on drugs, how did you miss that scene?
>>217008104oh yeathis warrants a second viewing for me now
>>217008104I missed that also. Too busy staring at her.
What's your fav human tech? I love the ISV. Such a beautiful ship. And knowing all the background info with how realistic they designed it makes it even better.
Is Varang's mount just a really big stingbat?
>>217008104he was on his phone when she gave her backstory
>>217008212NightwraithNa'vi Name: Ska’avumA frightening vision of power and strength, the Nightwraith (Na’vi: Ska’avum) is a rare, aerial apex predator. As a distant relative of the tetrapteron family tree, the Nightwraith shares characteristics of the Great Western tetrapteron and the Wetland’s Luna tetrapteron, all the while being uncharacteristically large enough to warrant a species delineation. It has four sets of wings, each with ten folding vanes that splay out and provide a more dextrous level of aerial control than the ikran. Its hollow, bony crest, or casque, is a fearsome weapon. The Nightwraith is known to use the casque to spear the operculum of its prey when hunting, for defense against predators or in mating rituals. Its hind claws are similarly deadly, and it can strike aerial prey like a hawk or falcon to devastating effect.
>>217008212Your pic isn't a stingbat, it's a tetraperton. My pic is a stingbat.
>>217008210Any submersible really, they made them look incredibly fun to operate.

>>217008336>no visible vibration of the armslmao did they hire the B team to do this shot?
>>217008379So they can travel to different star systems and have anti-matter engines but they don't have good shock absorbers? That's where we are at?
>>217008404they don't even have AI and their ships are all manually controlled, yes that's where we're at.
>>217008433You are thinking of Dune you retard.
>>217008462Nope.
>>217008433these don't exist btw
>>217008594What proof do you have of the spider drones using AI and not being remote controlled?
>>217008606I'm not a retard and understand that it wouldn't not make sense otherwise. The ships are manually controlled because they go into into areas where flux bullshit can mess up their computers. The drone assemblers are shown working autonomously.
>>217008594they're fed the blueprints and tasks and execute them. they don't actually think for themselves.
>>217008637Oh that's real convenient, flux bullshit huh? Nice retcon for your plothole, Cameron
>>217008651Buddy they literally say that out loud in the first movie.
>>217008670You can't name a single character
EYWA IS THE 2001 SPACE BABY?! WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS
>>217008649Yeah they're not droids like Star Wars but they function autonomously so not AI in the fantasy scifi sense but more advanced than any AI we've made.
>>217008651>>217008433You don't want an AI to fully pilot your ship, it's much better to use it as an assistance during key moments.t. someone working in the AI sectorSame for these >>217008594most likely they work autonomously for most repetitive stuff, but you will still need a human operator to supervise them.>ok but what if we had AI advanced enough to fully replace these operatorsThat's a much bigger if than you think. But then you wouldn't need any crew in these missions at all, you could just send automated missions all over space and then you are just making Low-G-Man : the movie.
>>217008719>more advanced than any AI we've made.not really, they're at the level of outdated boston dynamics robots really. they're fed hard code that should be very basic by avatar universe standards. but back to the thing originally addressed, unless they have magnetized hands on the crab vehicle that prevent them from touching, there's no way it could that seamlessly dissipate the force of impact seen in the clip. they cut corners and it shows
>>217008770The humans in avatar have near light-speed travel.
>>217008801>they're at the level of outdated boston dynamics robotsWe have nothing anywhere remotely as capable as those, you have no idea what you're talking about.
>>217008875those pieces of shit robots can't even do a backflip. doggobot can. you lose.
So uh...Spider calls Jake "dad", and Jake tells Kiri he is her father regardless of whatever. So isn't Spider x Kiri literally incest? Am I the only one who thought, "wait, aren't they siblings?" when they kissed? The fuck?
>>217008914they aren't even the same species
>>217008928Spider is growing the navi hair thing though
>>217008946they aren't even 100% the same species
Will we see preggo Varang in the next movie or will she give birth to Spider's stepsiblings during the time-skip?
>>217008914
>>217008953Navi are born with the tentacle thing, it's part of their DNA. Spider only grew one because he's got an alien spore growing throughout his body keeping him alive. I thought maybe it would be a cool twist if that's how all the tentacle internet bullshit worked but they figured out what was in him almost immediately and they've been growing Avatar bodies in their vats for at least a decade so if those needed a spore symbiote they would have known about it already.
>>217007414Every day Abatap gets proven more and more correct. They were just butthurt haters all along, and never in a real majority. And they're crying more to this very day.
>>217008594building drones A CUTE
>>217009089hopefully. Also seeing Jake become toruk macto again and then handling Pril hopefully made Neytiri go into heat
>>217008914Kiri was created though parthenogenesis. When Grace's avatar was plugged into the tree it activated an embryo inside it so she is genetically identical to the synthetic alien hybrid mixed with human DNA. Spider was just a normal human until he got a fungal infection and sprouted the queue. He born naturally and abandoned to be raised by the remaining scientists at first but ended up staying with the Sullys. Neither are related to Jake or each other in any physical sense, but socially, Jake kind of treats them better than his own sons except for that part where he almost killed him lol and considers them his children so if you are desperate for incest sure, call it that if you want. No one in context will really care until he gets her pregnant and she pumps out a short pink skinned Navi that's really half human and not just human flavored like the avatars.

>>217006265I want to see Na'vi slaughter pinkskins on Earth.
>>217009322Yeah, that's exactly what I was referencing here:>>217008770>then you are just making Low-G-Man : the movieThe plot of this video game is that mankind colonised other star systems using autonomous AI-run machines, until an alien found one of them and turned it against Earth and mankind.Yes, it's a 1990 NES game which never got any port on any other console, nor any sequel.
>>217009357we were robbed of pregnant Neyney scenes
>>217009433Holy smokes
So, the Sullys - like all Na'vi - just live in a one room tent. Does this mean that they freely have sex in front of their children as was common in many cultures around the world?
>>217009399Rumours are that the 5th one will be taking place on Earth. But the Na'vi would struggle against Earth's gravity, they would probably need exo suits just to walk around
>tulkun are a pacifistic matriarchy>this leads to countless deaths>only a male-led aggressive stance is able to protect themWhat did Chudmeron mean by this?
>>217009446no, they fuck in the wild where they can't be disturbed
>>217009446No, date night is when they go in the forest to fuck
>>217009451Pandora's gravity is 0.8G, the Na'vi will be just fine on Earth. They will need breathers, though.
>>217009446As a first time dad of a one year old, who lives in a flat, "how the F are we supposed to have sex?" is a frequent and still unsettled question. So far, wouldn't notice or care about sex noises coming from the living room, but in a year or two...
>>217006265Cameron seems to center these movies each around some kind of environmental destruction. The first one has surface mining that destroyed the forest. While A2 and A3 had whaling. What environmentalmproblem will the next movies focus on? Perhaps trophy hunting, and an anologe to the fur and ivory trade?Or perhaps chattle slavery of na'vi women to earth as sex slaves :-(

>>217009546He'll really blow it out of the park in Avatar 4. He will introduce Blackgoldium, a precious substance made from compressed carcasses of ancient pandoran fauna, and a single ounce of it can power all of earth for a trillion years on max throttle. But wait, there's more! The process of extraction will cause the destruction of the natural habitat of the cute and harmless Pandoran Panda, known by the natives as (transliterated) "Usurper of life defiler of Na'vi rapist beast", and only one man-turned-xeno can stop them!
>>217009828You just, but that's not possible because it takes ~5years for a signal to transmit from pandora to earth, and the timejump is 8 years.
