what the fuck was Kubrick trying to say with this movie? a lot of his movies are left up to interpretation but this one might be the most mysterious and unresolved to me. it circles some identifiable themes (lust, power, identity, jealousy, control, humiliation) but it feels like it almost refuses to comment on any of it
