>>217007796Plenty of people did. It was just more run of the mill YA trash. Hunger Games, Maze Runner, this shit, all in the same vein. First movie did well, second movie did okay, third bombed at the box office. Third movie actually got split in production into two movies. After the first bombed they tried to make a tv show and it ended up getting cancelled before production started. All in all it suffers from the same problem as other YA shit, they put these random "kids" in focus and make them mysteriously important. Every central character in them is a Mary Sue. Whole trend can be blamed on Harry Potter and Twilight
>>217007981Hunger Games is honestly not that bad in retrospect. I also watched the new one which is a prequel about Snow and I think I liked it more than the Katniss movies. Usually the movies about villains are annoying cause nowadays they're all about how villains are le good and misunderstood, but this movie sticked to it's guns and was an actual story about how someone became a terrible person. Also liked that the film didn't have an overbearing grey filter all over it.
