It is the only English language feature film that I'm aware of that explores the politics and power dynamics of the supra-national world of Freemasonry, religion and organized crime. Each film in the Godfather trilogy explores power at a specific level. In Part I it is about the municipal politics of crime and power in New York City. In Part II, Michael Corleone is playing the power game at the national level. And Part III is where Michael enters the game at the highest and most dangerous level, where power subsides in secret societies and banking cartels. This subject matter is often dismissed as conspiracy theory nonsense, but it is actually how the real world works. True power does not reveal itself. Its strength depends on its ability to hide itself. Ergo, the importance of secret societies to build and maintain the networks where ancient family dynasties broker agreements to protect their immense wealth - the kind of wealth that could decide the fate of not just an individual nation, but an entire region of the world. A lot of people didn't understand The Godfather Part III because the topic of Freemasonry and its radical offshoots is too obscure for a general audience. Outside of certain Catholic circles, it is not widely understood how Freemasonry is used to change the world and subvert religious tradition. >>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DzH5qf0C7E
