It takes you on a one hour zany rollercoaster ride just to take a huge dump on a guy who wasted his life living in his head instead of actually living. Ultimately the ride was somewhat entertaining, boring at times, threw me off and kept me hooked, and has zero rewatch value when you've figured it out. I hate hearing about people's dreams. This is about a fictional man's hallucinations/dreams about things that mostly didn't even happen fictionally.

The problem the movie is pointing out is he didn't actually *do* anything. He fantasizes he can be young again, so he can actually apply that knowledge he has gained in his old age to gain recognition, impress a girl, etc. But while lost in his fantasy he ignores opportunities to meaningfully connect with people in real life. And his fantasies cannot compare with reality, because the people in his head, his fantastical girlfriend does not have any actual agency independent from him, thus, it is merely a mimicry of an actual relationship, not the real thing.It's not just shitting on him, it's pointing out that his failure is to act. That literally kills him in the end, when he goes psychotic to the point where he imagines going home instead of actually going home. It's a movie that is telling you "go out and make your dreams real, don't just dream all day, because otherwise you aren't actually living life"
