saw this movie yesterday, it was pretty bad, just a lot of outright poorly done moments. downloaded commentary track to see what ryan johnson has to say for himself.
oh I like Kylo Ren and Rey scenes, they had good chemistry and I felt invested in whether Kylo is going to flip

Yeah, sucks. Looks grey and boring except for when it's trying too hard for le striking imagery and even then the sweeping visuals just remind you of how unaffecting the story is. All the creature designs are ass. The drawn-out premise of the sub-light speed chase through space where neither party can outpace nor catch up to the other is staggeringly uncreative and the most limp-dick central conflict a Star Wars series entry could possibly have. Rose kissing Finn against his wishes and Finn pining after Rey against her wishes are sad and pathetic and a bad example to set for young people.

It's really fucking bad and there were points in theater where I was legitimately questioning if what I was seeing was actually happening in a Star Wars film. Particularly the "yo momma" joke, casino planet stuff, and Luke dying for no real reason.
There also isn’t a single good action or battle scene. None in this entire trilogy really
