Pair him up with some love interest he meets along the way so he has someone to talk to about what’s going on, and that’s all you needed.Now that I think of it, there needs to be a big budget War of the Worlds that’s maybe got a little bit of Cloverfield, Signs, Night of the Living Dead, and Monsters mixed in, where it’s just a smaller story from the perspective of one guy trying to get somewhere important taking the back roads while the larger world is being destroyed, and most of what’s going on in the world is just conveyed through social media posts, radio, and news broadcasts, and his travels occasionally bring him in close proximity to the attack in progress.No kids, no “muh family”. Hell mix in some “I Am Legend” in there, and make it minimal dialogue.
