The heroes who are killed include Steve Rogers, Thor, Loki, Sentry, Cyclops, Magneto, Professor X, Red Guardian, Johnny Storm, Ben Grimm, M’Baku, Mystique, Wolverine, Falcon, and Tobey Maguire’s Spider‑Man. Unlike Thanos, whose killings were impersonal and carried out by proxy, Doom’s are direct, decisive, and designed to crush hope. Doctor Strange betrays the heroes and sides with Doom. It’s not a real turn as he’s sacrificing himself to act as a mole inside Doom’s camp. Everyone thinks he sold out, but he’s playing the long game. The survivors of Doom's final incursion escape through a pocket dimension at the last possible moment. The film ends with Doom shredding the multiverse, leaving only blank space as the credits roll silently. Secret Wars is set up as a siege film on Doom's Battleworld, with the remaining heroes regrouping there.
