I finally realise why """"cinephiles"""" hate this man.

He showed that you can make thought provoking films with unique plots WHILE being entertaining for the mass audiences.

This infringes on the idea that sharthouse cinema is unpopular because it's too smart and difficult and not simply because they're fucking boring. It means filmbros cannot feel superior for simply being a fan of Kelly Reichardt or Tarkvosky. Thoughtful cinema is no longer the realm of eltists. Nolan made it universal .So they decided to seethe endlessly about how Nolan's films aren't that smart and how he isn't THAT good in a pathetic attempt to tear him down.

But people are slowly but surely seeing through this facade. Especially when you people dickride inferior filmmakers like Eggers, Cameron, Villeneuve, etc...

All I know is reddit hates him, so that makes him based.
>>
>>217013916
Why? He seems like someone redditors would consider high artistry
>>
>>217013188
I rewatched Death Proof for the 20th time the other night and it's better than anything Nolan could ever achieve.

>>217013938
Redditors have turned on him in recent times. They're into Villeneuve right now.

Maybe he's a CHUD

His films aren't unique and aren't thought provoking, unless you're a retard or maybe a teenager. Absolute slop, definition of a midwit filmmaker.
>>
>>217013188
I just looked at his filmography to refresh my memory and realized that the only real stinkers he made were Tenet and Man of Steel.
He has a far better track record than people give him credit for
>>
>>217013188
lol cinephile midwits love this guy just like they love tarantino, villeneuve, eggers and so on

Here we see the insecure midwits in action folks. The cancer plaguing cinema discussions.

It's funny how Nolan tards think he's the first director like this
>>
>>217013188
nah he was just mid
>>
>>217013188
Yeah, he has Spielberg levels of success while being smarter than Kubrick(Hack).

>NOOOO stop criticizing my heckin hack director!!!

He hasnt made a great film since Interstellar.
Dunkirk was a self indulgent patriotic dud, Tenet was amateur hour were nolan confused backdrops and locations for engaging story telling, Oppenheimer was completely botched in editing and the odyssey looks like it's going to be Nolans silly attempt at making some sleak looking take on a classic ala Titus (1999), but it's probably going to be complete trash as the one thing that gave nolans movies any semblence of sould into Nolans movies was Zimmer, but is now replaced by the obnoxious music of a Göransson
>>
>>217013188
Nolan has this reputation of being "smart" and "cerebral" and this, combined with his popularity, makes a certain sort of person feel really insecure. They need to prove they are "smarter" and thus need to make it clear to the world that Nolan hasn't gotten them. Hence why places like Reddit or here, where these people congregate, have turned on the man since Interstellar at least.

Which is ironic because Nolan is really much more of an intuitive filmmaker rather than a cerebral one. Like in Tenet he outright tells the audience to just go with the flow.
