When does it get funny

S2-S4 is the peak. If you don’t like it then just drop it
>>
It's one of those 'you had to be there' things
They're literally using Windows XP and flip phones in the first few seasons
It can only be consumed through the lens of the late 2000's. Become 2007.
>>
>>217014209
I've been going through it for the first time over the last couple of weeks and am up to season 7. I didn't like season 1 but I've enjoyed the rest of it. I wouldn't say it has many belly laughs, though it does have a decent share, but it has really endearing characters so you find yourself invested.

>>217014708
I don't think you had to be there, though I'm 40 so lived through the period so I guess my perspective might be still be one who was there even if I wasn't watching the show when it was a cultural phenomenon.
>>
season 2, like most comedies
>>
>>217014209
season 1 episode 1 bitch! And it stays funny for like 7-8 seasons!
>>
Season 1, then it stops.

Or you can watch the UK version or Office Space.
You’re welcome.

Up until Pam becomes le girlboss then you can stop watching, definitely stop before / during Pam and Jims wedding

Season 2 through whenever Steve Carrell jumped ship are pretty solid. After that the quality torpedoes outside of a handful of episodes because they couldn't find anyone worthwhile to replace Michael why they didn't just promote Dwight to manager is beyond my comprehension, the show would've been at least watchable .
>>
>>217015479
They did temporarily promote Dwight. Remember when they had Charles Miner come in and Jim kept spilling spaghetti so they picked Dwight to step up instead?
>spoilering a 20 year old show
>>
>>217015750
actually shoot never mind, that happened when he made the Michael Scott Paper Company. Still, Dwight wasn’t the most suited for the job
>>
>>217014209
for fuck sake, if it isnt funny stop watching it, fuck off, get a fucking life, you fucking retard.
>>
>>217014209
When Jim marries the office mattress after she rubs it in his face from Monday to Friday every week all day that she's getting fucked hard and enjoying it by a blue collar worker who's the alpha to his beta

>he doesn't bow down to the lizard king

>Got to clap Pam's cheeks several times
>Instills fear in Jim years after he tried to kick his scrawny ass
>Comes out a better man from the breakup
>Invites them to his wedding and makes them question their own marriage
Roy won

What's the british version like? I saw one episode and it was liek the worst comedy I've seen in my life but everyone says it's good.
>>
>>217018179
It's a good show, but only comedic in the sense that you can't help but chuckle at the absurdity of our bleak existence.
>>
>>217018179
Office US is funny because the characters are silly
Office UK is funny because the characters are miserable
>>

I'm in S8 on a rewatch and the late seasons are not as bad as I was expecting. Robert California and Gabe are both great characters, the whole show would've been better if we got Gabe in S3 instead of Andy. The worst parts are jim and pam romance, I forgot they got married and had a kid so early into the show I thought that was gonna happen at the very end. Once they get married they both kind of suck, by S8 jim is really unlikable and dumb and he doesn't even do pranks anymore.
Rock bottom for the show was probably the second half of S7 when Michael is on his way out, Will Ferrell adds nothing and there's too much andy/erin/appeal to emotion about michael leaving

Your first mistake is that you're watching one of the foreign remakes.
Your second mistake is that you're watching The Office.
>>
>>217018179
I watched the first episode only. I liked a few of the jokes, but the banter may as well have been in a foreign language - I can’t understand british slang

rock bottom is the last season
Have never and will never rewatch

It was a funny sitcom. That's all. Boring women took a humorous comedy TV show and made it their personality and live their life around it. They think because they work in an office, this show involves them.

Why do ugly women listen to podcasts about an NBC comedy that's been off the air for 13 years, buy shitty merchandise, wear clothing with slogans from the television show, and pay exorbitant sums of money to meet bit players from the show at fan conventions? Some of these maniacs even cosplay as characters from the show. It's insane to me. I enjoyed the show for what it was and moved on with my life. These women are fucking nuts.
