>Marvel and Spider Man listed as seperate franchises
>Jump Comics and every comic from Jump listed as seperate franchises
>>
>>217015903
Shonen Jump's numbers are just their magazine and volume sales. The franchises listed have stuff beyond that like anime adaptations, movies, video games, and merchandise.

>Pokemon that high
Based nips milking millennials for all their worth
>>
>>217015903
Spiderman had movies, games, and even tv shows long before the MCU movies were a thing. He also is one of the most popular heroes.
>>
>>217015963
Most modern Pokemon fans are zoomers or younger
>>
>>217015903
Shonen jump only makes money from manga and magazine sales. Individual series like DB and One Piece include manga sales, blue rays, movie box office, video games and merch. It’s weird that they only list MCU and not marvel comics as a whole

What the fuck is Anpanman?

LEL at this not even being close to accurate as this ignores literally every non-Western property outside of some japanese properties

The fuck? It is popular but I seriously doubt it's made over 20 billion dollars to edge Bond out of the bottom spot

Even though it’s widely successful, it’s still too young to get on this list. Everything listed is over 2 decades old at least. It honestly depends on if Shueisha decides to milk it or not like DB. It’ll surpass both dragon ball and Naruto in manga sales after the next movie most likely

Labubu is small change. If anything is missing it's Fortnite.

Winnie the Pooh is always at the top every year and yet they are making zero movies about it.
Is it because they don't want to hurt Xi Jinping sensibility or something? Afraid that if they do, chinks will stop watching any other disney movies
>>
>shueisha has 4 individual series listed(formerly 5)
>still force Mangaka to pay for their own assistants and materials
What a cheapskate company, no wonder so many of them suffer health issues.
>>
>>217015766
I find it more worrying that all of these are either American or Japanese media franchises, with one Swedish and British one thrown in for good measure.
What are other countries even doing?
>>
we've gotten some nice things through capitalism, but thinking of Middle-earth as 'a franchise' makes my heart sink.
>>
>>217015987
Wrong
>>
>>217015903
It’s because Sony gets the bulk of the box office for spider-man so that separates it from marvel as a whole. Marvel got bigger simply because Disney bought Fox so the box office for the x-men franchise got folded into it

Worth noting that Fist of the North Star is carried by pachinko machines.
>>
>>217016343
It’s merchandise money, kids love lightning McQueen and toy cars. Plus, the first one wasn’t too bad. It was ok, it gets overhated
>>
>>217015766
How is Fist of the North Star possibly worth that much?
>>
>>217016166
It's largely cause it doesn't adjust for inflation. A Bond Throwaway like "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" made $80,000,000 in 1969, which in 2025 is about $700,000,000 comparatively.
So naturally a new toy sensation is gonna make more money than movies that have the bulk of their releases in the 60s-90s.
>>
>>217015841
Not enough merch potential to ever crack this. Look at gundam up there. Even with the modern weeb craze its still somewhat niche but the metric fuck ton of plastic model kits sold over the last 50 years has it up there.
>>
>>217015766
I'm really skeptical that in the 70 years of Barbie Dolls they've only sold 26.2 Billion Dollars worth of Barbie Dolls (not including the movie and Barbie related media that has existed since basically the 90s.)
Same thing with Lord of the Rings, those are among the most read books of all time, that also had 3 massive movies that defined culture for a moment in the 00s, you can't tell me that there have only been a shade under 20 billion dollars worth of copies of The Hobbit, the LOTR Trilogy and all the various semi-Christian/War Trauma related short stories and long histories that Tolkien wrote. And Marvel gets the Cinematic Universe separated from the comics and Spooderman.
Also the fuck Cars? There's no fucking way that Owen Wilson has that much money now?

Pokemon keeps rolling along despite putting out mediocre-terrible games for the past 15 years. ScarVi would have sunk any other franchise.
>>
>>217016686
Games have never mattered for Pokemon. The Gen 1 games were also ugly, buggy messes, but they still succeeded. Pokemania was never about the games, it was about Pokemon as a whole.

in light of recent events and past clues I'd investigate Pokemon.

He made Frieza to parody ruthless Japanese businessmen. I assume IP rights and residuals are pretty cutthroat.
