The Falcon is based. When they built the digital model of the Falcon, they went even further than scanning the original ILM model, they found all the model kit parts that were glued to the hull of the Falcon, hundreds of tank and car model kit parts, and scanned them individually, then added them in the correct spot, like the original ILM modelmakers did in 1976.
