Anyone else hate how normies and faggot youtubers online have changed the narrative of what Fallout is when it comes to tone and narrative? At least for me, the story was always serious with a side of camp here and there. However, if you dare complain about how every person in a faction acts like a retard you get hit with "Fallout has always been comedic and a parody of X thing". It just feels like faggots hyper focused on the silly quests like the guy that thinks he's a Ghoul but isn't, the lottery guy screaming at you coming out of Nipton, or the one poetry fag from the Great Khans that feels undervalued cause no one gives a shit about poetry and they think that's what Fallout is 90% of the time.

Fallout has always had serious but basic stories that branch out in to a more grand scale as you participate the different conflicts of the region you're in. There are serious quests to go on to, then some levity with trivial and comedic encounters which is what makes those memorable. But no, we must have marvelslop tier dialogue every scene. Lucy being way too naive, Ghoul being way too ruthless, and Maximus spinning in the middle of both. Those wouldnt be too bad if every other character wasn't either mentally retarded or comically evil.

Anyways, I thought the show was an average 6/10 but this last episode dropped it to a 4/10 for me.

Before you read my post, you should know a few things about me (the author):

I usually only have sex with Latin or Asian boys because it adds to the satisfaction of breeding lesser races.

Fallout: New Vegas is the best game in the series. I liked 3 (even though the art direction is poor and the game did not age well). I couldn't really get into 4, but I've played through FNV multiple times.

I like the show; there's a lot of fan service and content that exists solely to make the fans happy, and I think that's great. Lucy (or whatever the main girl's name is) is a great archetype for karmic good. The wanderer is a great archetype for karmic neutrality (not a fence-sitter, just someone who does a lot of good and bad, balancing out). Max is very clearly being set up for the karmic evil finale. I appreciate how they all have distinct skills and traits, and how these are used repeatedly throughout the show.

The setting is somewhat disappointing. The visuals and locations are neat, but everything being overrun, dead, tired, worn out, or decayed kills the wasteland vibe. What made NV so great was how alive and versatile the Mojave was; this feels fatigued and uninspired. Kings? Dead. Nipton? Ghost town. Novac? Bandit town. NCR? A shell of its former self. The Rangers? Two mentally ill boomers, one of them a black woman. Legion? Leaderless, rudderless, and useless. Brotherhood? They seem to have taken over half the Mojave, but in the game, they were a bunch of introverted preppers that rarely interacted with others. Now they're vertibirding all over the place.

The Lucy need to learn the hard way you can't trust anyone in the Mojave every episode shit is getting stale. Hoping for better moving forward.

I don't understand what they bothered with all this for in the first place. Any moral complexity went out the window the second this guy did the thing, and from that point on, the outcome was beyond obvious. Are writers afraid of nuance nowadays? They spent the whole episode setting this up to be a thing, only to run it into the ground within the same hour. So bizarre watching this complete hodgepodge of a show stumble its way through location after location with no real rhyme or reason.

Furthermore, it's been bugging me since last season that they simply refuse to mention the Enclave for whatever reason, but the idea that they aren't looking for their Cold Fussion mcguffin all of a sudden, and aren't even worth consideration by the Brotherhood of dimwits, seems strange to me. I don't think they should be the main villain because they're on the wrong coast for it, but at the same time, you would think that they would come up in planning when it's their fucking device. It's as though the writers simply have no object permanence at all.
