well it is the worst rated movie around here
>>

But then why are they both pronounced the same?

the thing next to it is over ten feet tall. meaning the "small gun" is well over 50 feet tall.
>>
>tiddy gun

tv is so contrarian that now Empire Strikes Back is the worst movie and TLJ is widely accepted as the best SW movie.

Is it because the first movie's plot relies on the fact that there's no faster than light instant messaging, so that they have to hand deliver the Death Star plans, and in the sequel Darth Vader is using interstellar probes and going on Skype calls with his boss Big E casually?

A direct fire EMP is pretty cool.
>>
>>217032337
Nta but is there any reason they couldn't have transmitted the death star plans digitally even if it needed decrypting by the people recieving it?
>>
>>217032618
The galaxy is big. I doubt that a Star Destroyer is sending messages from Tattooine all the way to Coruscant without it being bounced off signal repeaters. It is logical that the rebels have inferior communication options.

Plus Leia went to Tattooine to pick up Obi Wan and was pretending to be an innocent senator. Sending a massive transmission that could be intercepted would blow their cover.

X-Wings can outright destroy a Star Destroyer and they're vastly smaller. A single A-Wing destroyed the Executioner.

That's a planetary defense gun. That's literally what they can do. And it's nearly 30 stories high. Otherwise why do you think they even bother with ground forces? You have to drop off an army out of its firing angle and then blitz it. Spaceborne vessels are always going to have an inferior powerplant compared to ground defenses.

>lets digitally transmit the plans to our secret base so we can give the Empire its location!
No the real plot whole in ANH is that Leia still went to Yavin 4 knowing they were being tracked. They could have dropped off the plans with another courier somewhere to maintain secrecy. After all at that point nothing indicates they KNEW a secret vulnerability that would benefit them to luring the Death Star into attack range. It was supposedly only after analyzing the plans they discovered the chain reaction that would blow up the reactor.

Vader also specifically points out that the Empire messed up by positioning their fleet in range the rebels, so the rebels were able to shield themselves and use the giant titty guns to EMP the fleets weapons to cover their evacuation. Even then, the gun can only send a beam that temporarily disables the star destroyers guns, not cause any damage or permanent effects
>>
>>217031003
Of course!
>>
>>217034260
I like how Vadar never really kills Imperial Officers for the heck of it. Ozzel's fuckup was genuinely worth an execution. Not expecting the Rebellion to have actually huttrigged up any planetary defense capability on their most important asset was asinine.

>coastal artillery can sink a battleship
Lucas made Star Wars ww2 in space. And during the invasion of Norway Germany lost half of its surface fleet to coastal artillery
