Honestly I do not have too many critiques of "The Bridge" for the gay scene itself as it seems that the duffer brothers did at least try to explain how his coming out moment was relevant to the vecna plot when he said that vecna tried to make him afraid of coming out with his friends. My main critique is that many scenes with major plot points abruptly ended and transitioned into a new scene without much exposition about what happened in the previous scene. I understand the duffer brothers were trying to piece so many subplots together with their large cast but they could have made a couple episodes maybe 10 or 15 minutes longer just filling in a few holes. For example the scene when vecna invades hoppers mind at the tank. Does hopper ever fully explain to eleven and kali what happened? It doesnt seem like it. The audience is left to fill in a major plot point.
