My dad dislikes Eggers movies and finds them repulsive, but finds Sean Baker's films entertaining and funny. Is Sean Baker more Boomer friendly than Eggers?
Baker's films make me feel like I've been dipped in dogshit coming down from a 40 day meth bender. But in a way that is deeply good and deeply true. That said I worry for your father's empathy if he doesn't get a little weepy after the Florida Project or Anora etc.

>>217036587based dad. it's funny because Sean Baker movies are also quite "basic" but they have so much going for them in terms of characters/writing/cinematography/etc that they really stand out and feel like nothing else currently coming out. /tv/ can greentext his quotes all they want but his movies really DO feel like Old Hollywood shit from the 70s/80s re-imagined for a new age while Eggars is just doing some by the numbers shit you've seen before. I do enjoy The VVitch as a horror fan but all of the rest of his stuff is pretty questionable at best. I can't say the same for Baker, who seemingly always has a very clear idea of what he wants his movies to look/feel like and you can really tell.
