does sauron even need the ring? why couldn't the ring just have been kept in the Shire or even Rivendell? Ring Wraiths wouldn't dare enter the elven kingdom. keep the ring far away and defend it while sauron is supposedly in a weakend stage without it, like what is he going to do?if sauron's strength is growing so much that middlearth HAS to respond does he even need the ring in the first place
