Are the 80's over now?

>1980 will be 50 years old in 5 years
There hasn’t been that much nostalgia for the 80s in a while and stranger things is probably the last big thing we get for nostalgia for a while. Hollywood is only reviving 80s franchises because they are creatively bankrupt. 70s nostalgia is virtually nonexistent at this point and the 80s is only a decade away from the 70s. Maybe the 80s will have more staying power? Who knows

The real question is will the 90s get their owed nostalgia content

no more reboots, Mikey

90s are the "next nostalgia wave" since forever.

The '80s will never be over, it's the peak of civilisation. There's a reason we're still reliving it 40 years on

>>217037862
We'll never get a '90s revival. People only get nostalgic about '90-'93 because it basically an extension of the '80s
>>
>>217037862
I don't think we will see much 90s and 00s nostalgia in media
I think the next big one nostalgia wave will be early 2010s with its performative liberalism, bubblegum pop and my nigga Obama
>>

The 80's has such a clear aesthetics (even if it's all an exaggeration fueled by nostalgia), no other decade after that can compete.
We've had 90's and 00's small nostalgia waves but they don't have the same staying power.

>Duffers were only 6yrs old when 80's ended
Can The 80's as imagined by Millennials shit finally stop? Come to think of it, can Millennials continually fucking EVERYTHING up finally be stopped?

Indian jones never made a big splash in the 2010s or 2020s..
>>
>>217037657
I hope so. 80s nostalgia has been milked to death.
>>
>>217040142

I think most of the 90s and 2000s nostalgia is only related to technology, like videogames, electronics, and the internet. And then the early 90s is like an extension of the 80s. If you watch the Prince of Bel Air, there is a noticible change in the season that takes place in 94, vs the one that takes place in 95. And that can be said about other tv series as well as movies, not all of them of course, but many. And then you have the 2000s having two economic crises and bringing back shitty 70s fashion that makes people look like a dirty hippie

I'm surprised we aren't on it yet since zoomers have been wearing 90s-inspired clothing for like half a decade now

We're long overdue for 00s nostalgia

90's doesn't have a really wide cultural aesthetic
There's the 90's where it's still the 80's and then there's clearly the later half of the 90's that has done a entire shift elsewhere with a glaze of 60's nostalgia

That picture is misleading. Beverly hills was released in December of that year but it grossed more than anything else

Fucking 80s, man, best shit ever. Bet your ass, man.

Guns N' Roses fucking rules. Crüe. Def Lep.

Then that Cobain pussy had to come around and ruin it all. Like there's something wrong with wanting to have a good time.

I'll tell you something. I hated the fucking 90s.

90s fucking sucked.

I don't know anon I still see a lot of 80s nostalgia. Black Phone 2 and the new Conjuring were set in the 80s

90s won't get the nostalgia treatment. The decade was an orgy of optimism for the bright future ahead. Then republicans (Cheney) allowed 9/11to happen, leading to the eternal hellscape we now live in. Everyone in charge doesn't want you to remember what was lost.

I'm so fucking relieved this show is over lmao
I feel like when they shot Bin Laden

Are we going to get 90s nostalgia or do you think it is just going to be skipped for 00s nostalgia?
