Because a faithful adaptation is out of the question and anything less would be just a toothless western.

It’s white guilt demoralization propaganda disguised as “le deep existentialism”, as expected of an Irish faggot like McCarthy.

This. It’s a edgy teenager book. Read Moby Dick or anything from Faulkner if you want the writing style that Blood Meridian has.

ideologically incompatible with the owners of the media industry (black rock and vanguard’s boards)

>"They rode on and the sun in the east flushed pale streaks of light and then a deeper run of color like blood seeping up in sudden reaches flaring planewise and where the earth drained up into the sky at the edge of creation the top of the sun rose out of nothing like the head of a great red phallus until it cleared the unseen rim and sat squat and pulsing and malevolent behind them."
See what he did here anon? Ya see?! The sun made a color like blood, like the rest of the book! Violence and blood! And then he does something absolutely genius, he calls the sun a dick! Haha! But he uses a different word I rarely hear, “phallus”, which calls out to the Greeks (obvious reference to classical literature here) and to Freud, whose psychological theories were popular at the time. What a genius! It really doesn't get any better than that.

No, I 100% agree. This shit is fucking bad, and if you want that sort of violence and entertainment, go read the pulps. The Conan the Barbarian stories fill the gap, and are short and actually fun to read.

Moby Dick has no good adaptations because the book has literary value but tells an unsatisfying story. Same with BM.
>>
>>217038252
It's a book for manchild pseuds who only consume genreslop to read so they can feel "literary".

red dead redemption 2 is the closest thing you're gonna get, maybe rdr3 but yeah the bloodshed in rdr2 is gnarly, hitting random sherriffs with the semi auto shotgun u can find early is brutal. you can look at it through the camera and shit the detail is surprising considering gta its absent, rdr2 gore is particularly brutal (i think certain ammo makes it easier). but yeah nothing comes close, a good BM film would be kino. think of the main stnadout happening scenes in the book, those would make for great kino.

The issue with BM tho is the lack of an actual protagonist. The Kid is doing little more than observe the gang killing and raping their victims. The book lives off the flowery prose richly described scenes only to hit you with another horrible string of events. I love it but it's never going to leave the pages of the novel. American Primeval kinda felt like Netflix was testing the waters for an adaptation but that show isn't getting anywhere close to BM.
