See I don't care about AI slop really. I just don't trust it's factual accuracy so I avoid it for that reason alone. It's just particularly pronounced in the cosmology genre. It rewards people playing fast and loose with data/research/facts. That's fine I remember weekly world news but it also pushes off people who do the work because they're crowded out by easy to make space slop. So the genre I like might not even really exist in a few years and that i do have a problem with. AI channels have no reputation to harm, they can instantly relaunch under a new name and voice. There's no way to ensure accuracy. Again I start having problems with that. Not much can be done I realiS, it's how YouTube serves up videos to people that's the real problem. You don't get bonus points for doing a good job.

Anyone else feel bad that one of the big requirements to make big money in today’s world is to lose your sense of morality? My son is 2 years old. I have some parent friends that I use to organize play dates for my son with. My son doesn't have a smartphone or digital device but most kids around his age do.

What they watch is not only AI generated. It's deliberate gibberish. Like complete abstract colors and shapes and reality breaking and physics defying behavior. Kids find it fascinating because they are still learning how the world works and it tricks their brain into thinking they are learning new physics and phenomenon of the world they have never seen IRL before.

The moment my son saw the smartphone screen he was locked in and when I got him away just a couple of minutes later he got extremely frustrated, angry and tried to hit me. He is normally a very sweet boy which just goes to show how insanely addictive AI is for kids brains.

You can get slop recommendations multiple ways. Listen to music, you get music slop pretty easily. Although you can train the algorithm to ignore AI slop music. Watch celeb videos, you get videos of a young and old celeb together in on video and especially of the cast of some movie/show.
