The first episode of Stranger Things was pretty good. The atmosphere and tone was spot on. But at some point in the first season it became a bit meh and the second season was a slog to get through. So I never watched or thought about it again besides seeing how Millie aged on /tv/.

I was under the distinct impression that it was going to turn into another Prison Break, where instead of ending at a natural point it would go on and on and the conspiracy would get more absurd and deeper with lots of retcon and additions s8mply to keep the series on life support.
