Every character that didn’t deserve to die in both shows was designed to be a total asshole, weirdo, snob, etc, otherwise the audience wouldn’t like the main characters. Chuck was right 100% of the time, and if he didn’t have his imaginary disease, the show wouldn’t have made it past the first episode.
