>the lodge in Twink Peaks

I don't get it, it filtered me. So the lodge is like a wormhole between two worlds?

if you explain something there's no longer any mystery to it, there's no reason to discuss it or try to figure it out. answers are the death of mystery.

The fact that I no longer want there to be any mystery to it is why I'm asking for an explanation.

It's basically like Stranger Things only without the pointless exposition.

but once there's no longer any mystery there's no reason to discuss it anymore. people will just look up "twin peaks woodsman meaning" and no one will really talk about it. how it exists now it's mysterious, everyone will have a different take and David Lynch never gave it a set answer so there's no reason to kill other people's meanings.

the real point is the feeling you get as you try to figure it out. it's impressionist, the way it makes you feel as you turn it over in your mind is the entire point. without that it's just a weird gimmicky thing Lynch did to be weird, once he explains it that's all it becomes.

But that's just not true. It's wrong. Most films/shows do 100% exposition and /tv/ is filled with discussion about them.

sure and most of it is lame superficial discussion, pedophiles posting about their favorite child actors in game of thrones, star wars fans complaining about how their favorite character got raped and made woke, etc. none of them have weird stuff like the Woodsmen or the Mauve Sea to discuss and wonder about. it's exactly why David Lynch's work stands out.

i mean that's why there's stuff like Dougie Jones in The Return or the whole side plot about Andy and Dick competing for Lucy's affection due to her pregnancy, there's plenty of silly irreverent stuff that doesn't need to be analyzed. but the point of the esoteric stuff isn't to find "the" answer or "solve" it, the point is to make you think and ponder.

sadly with Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch's passing, TP is dead. some studio might try to bring it back in 10-20 years but no fan will accept it.

It’s a dream space, a vision space. It’s the realm of imagination. I know that’s a very simplistic explanation but trust me when I say it explains the whole show.
If you want to know more, MIKE describes himself as a former killer and torturer along with BOB, who cut off his arm out of remorse. Since Twin Peaks is ultimately about Leland’s incestuous relationship with Laura, cutting off his arm actually represents cutting off his penis. The “arm” of MIKE is his penis. He’s a strange and funny and attractive character just like a penis is to a woman (in this case Laura who lives in the lodge with the arm and MIKE).

That’s because you are an NPC. NPCs just want everything to be neatly packaged, explanations spoonfed to them and an ending with total closure. It’s why Prometheus filtered so many people.

I guess when you can’t visualize a day-glo orange colored apple spinning in an elliptical orbit around an upside down wooden rocking chair with a metronome ticking away, you can’t be expected to go away thinking about theoretical explanations. You need it to be easily digestible without room for nuance and interpretation.

The Secret History is pretty blunt that it exists outside of space and time and is where bigfoots and aliens come from. What matters is the symbolism, but on a literal level I don't know what Windom Earle was hoping to get out of it and I don't think the writers did either

HELLO?????????
>>
>>217073028

Windom wanted to get time travel magician powers.

Since the Lodge exists outside time and space, anyone who enters it will always be in it, even if they leave. Once there, if you are a magician, you can leave it into any time you wish. Past or future. You can go anywhere and anywhen, and even if killed, you will still always be in the Lodge.

That's how Laura Palmer was in there even after ascending out of it at the end of FWWM.

>anyone who enters it will always be in it, even if they leave
Then why did Dougie enter it? Is he stupid?
>>

the lodge made him stupid

Someone needs to edit S3 into a single film except it’s just the Dougie parts, would be pure unfiltered kino

Don't compare this dogshit goyslop to Twin Peaks ever again, nigger. I hope I have made myself clear.

Okay so there are a few ways to look at Twin Peaks. There is no actual explanation it's just random bullshit go and if you think about it from that perspective? You have to admit it's kind of kino. Got a light? Got a light?

The actual explanation makes the show much more stupid and there are mostly actual explanations to everything if you watched the show. But I'm not going to explain them. Basically the entire show is about demonic entities from the black lodge infiltrating the real world and Bob traps Coop in the red room (which is a part of the black lodge) and he wakes up 25 years later and we get season 3 25 years later and the entire cast has died and you get Twin Peaks season 3 which is kino at times but kinda trash at others. Did I like Twin Peaks season 3? Sure, it was alright.

So, is that really the actual explanation? Yes, essentially. And the ending is a tragedy which essentially states that the Black Lodge always wins and it's all cyclical, I'm assuming. Because Coop also lost in season 2.

To be honest Twin Peaks was basically a soap opera back in the day but I liked it it was very kino I'm saw we lost so many good cast members because Lynch wanted to be le quirky and WAIT 25 FUCKING YEARS I HATE REDDITORS THIS SHOW DIDNT EVEN NEED TO EXIST. But it was okay.

the actual explanation is that it's a metaphor for television. the Twin Peaks world isn't the real world, Judy's World with Carrie Page is the real world.
