This movie sucked, I am beyond appalled I put my family through it in New Year's. First 20 mins are just RD2D and the faggot droid talking with unintelligible aliens. The middle is le funny alien midgets making noises in the jungle. AND THE FINAL BATTLE AGAINST VADER CUTS TO OTHER FIGHTS EVERY 1-2 MINUTES. You THINK you finally reached the good part of the movie and can't stay on the scene for even 5 minutes straight, it constantly shows you Lando and random soldiers in spaceships, or Han & Leia and the midgets fighting stormtroopers in the jungle, for absurdly long amounts of time.It's almost like Lucas didn't trust his audience would be interested in the real story and drama (Luke, Vader, Palpatine) and had to flash pretty lights in your face the entire time.EVEN VADER'S DEATH HAPPENS ALONGSIDE EVERYTHING ELSE. The sad music doesn't even manage to kick in during Vader's funeral before everyone starts dancing and singing.This shit was probably the Phantom Menace of its time, it's stupidly incredibly childish more so than even 4 and 5 (who are boring in their own ways, but not this cartoonish). We also have that stupid song at Jabba's hut, it was the Jar Jar Binks of its time I just know it.

Only the original is any good. It's hard to even watch Empire now, knowing that the only conclusion is middling at best. The whole franchise is overrated and I'm embarrassed that it took until my late 20s to realise it.
