It’s weird, but the choppy stop motion for ED209 has actually gotten better with age for some reason. It really gives off an uncanny valley vibe, and adds a lot to it being both threatening, and incompetent at the same time.Also say what you will about the sequel, but that shot of Robocain rapidly climbing the elevator shaft is incredible

I always liked the way he says "Thank you!" when tossed his keys when he's going out to bust crime for the first time. It has a weird amount of personality behind it's inflection which is out of place for Robert Cop but funny nonetheless.

The scene where Murphy is killed still disturbs the fuck out of me more than most horror films do. It’s not the gore, it’s the way the villains are enjoying themselves, mocking him, humiliating him. It’s so cruel and dehumanising that it actually hurts my soul. Makes for a great final sequence seeing them all get killed, especially Clarence

Adding in frames doesn't magically create additional movement from the puppet from one pose to the next. The only time a higher frame rate works is when it's recording new information, taking something that was originally recorded at 24 frames per second, then doubling the same frames and playing it back faster doesn't add new movement. It's just playing the shot at the same speed in fast forward.

>>217081532There's a DVD box set, but they used to play it on the Comet channel and that's where I watched it.The pilot episode is movie length and actually based on an unused script for the sequel. After that, it's really more of a kid's show. Robocop doesn't use his gun. But there are still some enjoyable episodes. Pic related is the Nancy Allen of the live action TV show, although she's not supposed to be the same character. There's also a female character that gets killed and turned into AI, which is kind of cool.
