It was alright, but they need to stop making the same fucking movie over and over again. Cameron needs to shit or get off the pot. Actually start going somewhere with this five movie epic you're trying to make.
>>217105355>1st one introduced the world>2nd introduced the main characters and expanded the world>3rd cemented those characters with personal arcs and expanded the worldwhat more do you want?
>>217105355Did you watch Avatar Fire and Ash or did you watch Avatar 2009 three times by mistake?
>>217105355I think there will be a timeskip between 3 and 4
Im not sure if Jimbo was intending this with his series, but I’ll watch the new one he’s shat out, enjoy it at the cinema (mainly for the world class visuals in 3D), then soon forget anything about what happened in the 3+ hour film within about two weeks. Is this what he’s angling for? A popcorn movie? Or does he expect us to feel something deeper than that?
>>217105550he's making the movie for himself, he doesn't give a fuck what you think
>they need to stop making the same fucking movie over and over againWeird how people don't say this about the samey capeshit slop #27 with all the same flaws all the time. But With Avatar it's suddenly such an issue. Only with Avatar. No other IP gets even 5% of the accusations they throw against Avatar. Curious.
>>217105397>1st one is blue space pocahontas>2nd one is blue space pocahontas>3rd one is blue space pocahontasIdk I guess what I want is no more blue space pocahontases.
>>21710535530 years of working on these movies and they're glorified Saturday morning cartoons. What a fucking waste of life you are, Jimmy. Just roll over and die already, you fucking loser.
>the wind traders get like 10 mins of screen time>the ash tribe turns out to be a new development in Pandora and are basically blue (red) orcsI’m not happy
>>217105780Yeah and James bond is literally the same thing over and over again with whole plots being callbacks to previous films and journos make lists talking about and ranking them.
>>217105857They are not a new development. They were mentioned in the comics years ago so they've had to have existed for some time.
>>217105780
>>217105879Not the same thing at all and you know it. James Bond is endlessly malleable because it's heightened pulp based on the real world whereas Avatar is sci-fantasy made-up bullshit. Bond movies always align with the times that change and thus have infinite material.
>>217105823>Idk I guess what I want is no more blue space pocahontases.yeah you do
>>217106138>regular world spy thriller is endlessly malleable and has infinite material>fantasy sci-fi series set in the future is just made-up bullshitI swear Avatar haters never make any sense. It's like talking to black people.
>>217106171But I did eat breakfast this morning
>>217106138Even when it does change there's still lots of recycling like Moonraker is The Spy Who Loved Me in space
>>2171053972 is the 1st but with water and retarded character and their childrens.Basically a direct-to-video disney sequel.
What are you talking about? That's like the biggest whining when it comes to the MCU?
>>217105355I don't really see a significant difference between Avatar, Dune and LotR. They are all about the continuation of the same overarching story. Several repeats throughout each of the series. Each sequel introduces some new character and some other new stuff and characters but I guess people like the world that's why they keep watching. I'm a sucker for big battles so I didn't mind LotR 2 and 3 both ending with big battles. There is drama, there is tension, there is action. As long as it's well done I don't mine some repetition.
>>217105355It's entertaining slop. I'll keep watching them. They're like Marvel films but with more passion.
>>217106475LOTR is nothing like Dune or AVatar are you fucking retarded
>>217106475Based. I don’t care what blockbuster it is, dune or lotr or marvel or whatever, as long as there’s big battles with good characters and tension, and alongside me some kino snacks, I’m happy.
>>217107551Eh, in the end it's all just made-up fantasy in made-up fantasy worlds. Some lean more into the magical, others into the political, and some into the sci-fi.
>>217105397Second was a rehash and the 3rd loses practically nothing from its omission. There has to be concrete politics and strategy beyond the boilerplate Pocahantes cum Dances With Wolves rigamarole (the ecocide and imperialisms tropes are inadequate): Pinkasses are right because the Smurfurries are slaves to a hive mind, however benevolent, and have no options with Earth a fuck; Smurfurries are right because it's their world; Lava worshipper Ashfurries are right because Smurffurries are fatalistic retards that will native american Ghost Dance Cult themselves into losing with rigid anti-technology positions. Point being-- the hive mind mold god makes the setting less diverse, not more. Introducing novelty to that set up will require Smurffurry apostasy to the Ashholes BECAUSE they're some combination of cowards and fools not taking proactive steps to help themselves while taking big Ls to the Pinkass Sky People. If Cameron wants to really upstage Geoge Lucas' Star Wars - specifically the Prequels - he has to get GWOT veteran and special forces consultants to flesh out how we would actually go about winning a new planet for settlement with COIN and green berets going native in ways that aren't solved by deux ex Aiwa. More regional religious variation on HOW Smurfurries regard their hive mind god is required, and must have local ecology variance beyond seafags just having the same anemone USB ports.
