Does /tv/ know anything on danish movie/tv media culture? I really wanted to talk about an animated movie made there because i think it's kinda sus and i would be really intrigued to hear opinions from a non-furry pov. I made a bunch of threads on /co/ but furfags keep spamming them with cropped porn furry shit and deadly unfunny dead memes of one of the main characters

Refn? I hear good things about the Pusher trilogy. Also Lars Von Trier.
>>
>>217108697
Hello I like some of the stuff Lars von Trier did

Some time ago I also watched a Danish movie called "Flickering Lights" that was really good but I can no longer find it online

Danish here.
Grew up watching Jungledyret Hugo. Why do you wanna talk about it?

The pusher trioligy is some of the best classic gangster Juno, it's just realistic and rough. Highly recommend.

>Refn
Kino early on but fell off in the 2010s
>Von Trier
Love him or hate him. Watch his first few films, if you like them then you'll like all of them and think they're great. If you hate them, avoid him.
>Vinterberg
The one I've watched the least movies of, only 3. They were all pretty good but not great.

Just watched Riders of Justice yesterday. Quite good, but still not as good as the other comedies made by the same team. Looking forward to the last viking.
>>
>>217108697
have some assorted danish kino in no specific order:
de grønne slagtere
kongekabale
en kongelig affære
bastarden
adams æbler
jagten
druk
festen
flammen og citronen
under sandet
blinkende lygter
den skyldige
retfærdighedens ryttere
ser du månen, daniel
>>
I love Druk and The Hunt, The Hunt was in the top 5 best films I saw in 2025
Riders of Justice was a lot of fun and provided a lot of comfort for me when it
I've also seen Riget, Breaking the Waves and Melancholia
I tried watching The Promised Land but it seemed too cartoonish so stopped
I used to talk to a Dane and Denmark is a very cool country
A lot of Danes are a bit too normie for me but otherwise I love Denmark

I lived in Denmark and leaving it has sunk me into a depression from which I have yet to emerge

It really ruined the rest of the world for me

Its quite another to LIVE IT

Lol.
Half the country is on opiods, a crisis fuelled by your own doctors.
Half the country can't afford healthcare.
Half the country scared of the other half so have to carry guns.
Kids shooting up schools having sick mental health.
Single parents having to work multiple jobs just to stay poor.

Just a few examples. I see a lot of suffering in the us

If you want to watch Danish animation you should see Benny's Badekar. Absolute classic top 10 of all time animated film. Probably doesn't have a lot if any dubs in foreign languages and even if it does they might not be as good as the original voices.

Yeah the Danish movie production is a small industry and that generally means a small pool of actors get featured in many films. I think Mads accepts a lot of roles since that's also his network and who helped him early on.

>>
>>217108697
I was going to post that I have seen quite a few Danish films and then I realized almost every single one of them had Mads Mikkelsen in them. Not all of them but probably 90%.
In fact, I would even wager that if a Danish film is even slightly noteworthy outside of Daneland it is highly likely to feature Mads
