Yes, and we're circling back to original point that as far as we know, because the show told us, I would be fully immune and potentially outlive most if not all the plurbs because I'm 32 and I am psychologically capable of things like fishing and harvesting fresh produce.

This show has some similar themes to Westworld, i.e. getting lost in a constructed fantasy, having your identity subsumed by some other overriding technological system, essentially using facsimiles of people for hedonistic pleasure. However Pluribus is actually decent and well written so far, and Westworld was absolutely fuckin awful.

Carol should've just finished her conversion therapy and none of this would have not happened.

I don't see how being self-sufficient stops you from being infected though, whether you want to or not. It's only been a couple months in and they already discovered a method of converting those once thought to be immune, so it stands that they will continue trying to find other ways to tailor the virus until all are turned.

My player went to the Next episode, but then I manually clicked Next thinking I was going to Ep 7 and so it double Next'd and I watched Charm Offensive and was slightly confused why the plurbs were back and why Mano was injured, why Carol suddenly had an O'Keefe painting on her wall, and where the "PLEASE COME BACK" on the drive had come from. I assumed these events happened off screen. Later when I realized, I went back to watch Ep7 and because I'd already seen where they end up, in this ep where there's montages of Carol placing fireworks etc. I did reluctantly skip through a lot of that filler. This mistake impacted a small amount of my enjoyment of Pluribus.

I know people absolutely love this show, and I love Odenkirk, but I struggled with falling asleep in the early episodes and eventually gave up because I couldn’t get through an episode. I keep meaning to give it another try.

I think that if the show goes there (they undo the collective without killing everyone) mankind will descend into a mass psychosis from being suddenly separated again. Imagine how utterly damaging it would be, to find perfect contentment in the hive mind only to get kicked back out into your shitty atomized body. They don't download the information into their brain; they minds are networked. Just like if you has say, a Network Attached Storage, it doesn't need to d/l a copy of a file to your computer to use it; if you're on the network you just access it where it is.

Once the collective breaks, you're back to working with your own grey matter, but you can no longer wireless access other minds and their knowledge or muscle memory. If you played piano a lot with the aid of that memory, maybe you could learn enough to keep playing after you lost the connection, though you'd probably be less talented.
